9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10/2 Franklin Method Series: Your Dynamic Core

September 11 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am

This workshop is open to students of all levels and backgrounds

Core training is popular, sure, but are you certain you’re training your core safely and effectively? And what if you’ve been training for years, but you still have low back pain and can’t seem to slim your waist? Come explore the center of your body, how the core truly works, and learn exercises you can do at home to release back and shoulder tension, improve breathing, and strengthen your core from the inside out. No mats or experience in the Franklin Method is necessary. If you have back pain or some other concern, please contact Cheri prior to attending this workshop.

Each active class in this series of 4 will include a thorough warm up using Franklin Method practices to release tension and awaken our core. A bit of anatomy education, imagery, and will build into a creative ‘banding’ routine for total body strength (and fun)! We will end each class with a guided relaxation.

Start your day by getting organized, energized and embodied!

Cheri Dostal Ryba is Co-Director of our Yoga Therapist Training. She is a Yoga Therapist Specializing in Musculoskeletal Ailments, and a Franklin Method Movement Educator. Cheri has been teaching movement and embodiment for 15 years.

Cheri started practicing Yoga as a dance student, and completed her B.A. Dance Degree. She then trained in New Zealand with Donna Farhi’s Advanced Yoga Teacher Training program. After a decade in the fitness industry as a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM, Cheri turned her training and energy toward more therapeutic outcomes through embodiment. Yoga, meditation and running helped her navigate personal trauma and rebuild her immune function, hope and resilience. Cheri deeply believes in the power of embodied movement practice.

Anatomy is often at the core of her lessons, giving students what Cheri playfully calls ‘x-ray vision’. She blends yoga, dance, developmental movement patterns, The Franklin Method, restorative yoga and fitness education. As a Movement and Yoga Therapist, she’s helped people with chronic pain, sacroiliac joint and pelvic, neck and back injuries, mental health/anxiety and to improve digestive health. Cheri’s contagious enthusiasm inspires you to reconnect with the joy of movement.
