Lullaby Yoga is a unique blend of restorative and yin yoga with heart-opening live music led by Johanna Beekman. Her class focuses on deep relaxation and healing, using principles from therapeutic yoga, yoga nidra, and subtle body and breath work. In Lullaby Yoga, Johanna gently guides participants through a series of deeply relaxing poses while singing and playing soothing songs and chants. The music—a blend of original and traditional pieces from a variety of global cultures—facilitates the healing process by providing a luxurious, peaceful space for the mind to rest while the body relaxes, rebalances, and restores itself.

Johanna has been fascinated by the yoga universe since she attended retreats with Krishna Das and Ram Das as a teenager. But it took a decade before her growing love of yoga and kirtan led her to pursue a yoga teaching credential. Less than a year after she received her certification she was rear-ended by a drunk driver on her way home. The accident did extensive damage to her back, neck, and spinal column, putting a sudden end to her budding yoga teaching practice. During the recovery process she focused her creative energy on her music and restorative yoga—the style of yoga that focuses on deep relaxation and healing. After a few months she combined these two powerful healing practices and created Lullaby Yoga.
