About Your Teacher: Julie

Yoga is Julie’s life, passion and purpose. She teaches a variety of styles from Gentle Restorative and Traditional Indian Hatha to Advanced Vinyasa Flow. She strives to make her classes compassionate, creative, professional and authentic. The safety and comfort of her students is her highest priority. Julie has been practicing consistently for 20 years and teaching since 2012. Originally a tree-climbing tomboy from St. Charles, Illinois, when she graduated from NIU, moved west in the 90’s and discovered the yoga community and its open-hearted people, it was true love from the get-go. She enjoyed an exciting 11 year career as a marketing executive followed by 7 years as a regional leader for a global charity. Her dedicated yoga practice sustained her through life’s ups and downs. Life tested her limits in 2010 when she lost both parents and a sister. During this time, she personally cared for her mother who suffered from cancer and dementia while simultaneously caring for her small children at ages 1, 3 and 5. She believes it was her yoga that gave her the strength and peace to navigate that incredibly difficult time Julie made a vow to dedicate the rest of her life fully to yoga and sharing it with as many people as possible. Now at 47, when she is not busy caring for her family of 5 in Mission Viejo, CA, she spends most of her spare time teaching, practicing or studying yoga. She humbly admits she feels whole. She breathes gratitude, love and respect for her teachers, students and all yogis.
