Reiki: a practice from Japan that works on the energetic body
It involves hands on touch to balance Ki or life force energy, to strengthen the body’s ability to heal on all levels.
Balancing The Energetic Body
Did you know that Reiki is recognized as a complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), by the National Institute of Health (NIH) under the National Cancer Institute (NCI)? A CAM therapy by definition is used alongside of conventional medicine and not in place of it, thereby enhancing and supporting medical treatments.
Japanese healing practice developed by Dr. Mikao Usui (1865-1926). Reiki’s roots trace back 2500 years. Reiki is not a religion, but does have a spiritual foundation in supporting one to achieve harmony and balance for their highest good.
Reiki is all loving, all knowing, and does no harm. Involves hands on touch, Ki or life force energy, to strengthen the body’s ability to heal on all levels physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Reiki elicits the relaxation response of the body, creating a cascade of peacefulness and calmness.

Alexandra is the Director of the Reiki Department –
Alexandra believes that our Western society places a great emphasis towards treating illness and disease by means of pharmacology. “Where there are amazing lifesaving drugs, often we focus on the symptoms and not the root cause.
Alexandra’s focus is on self-healing and on using Reiki to maintain balance in one’s life.
In addition, Alexandra also works with clients one-on-one.
Carla was first introduced to Reiki in 2011 while studying the energetic body as a Yoga instructor.
A yogi practitioner for 30 years and a teacher for 10, Karen believes we all contain an innate ability to heal. Pursuing her passion in energy work and as a natural complement to her yoga practice, Karen became a Certified Reiki Master trained in the Usui tradition with an additional Karuna® Reiki Master Certification. Using an intuitive approach ushering the client’s energy toward its own natural state of healing and ease, Karen often blends the use stones and essential oils into her healing sessions. Holding space for each individual, Karen approaches every session with compassion and strives toward making her on table technique unique and meaningful for your life that day, guiding the body toward balance and peace.
