She is honored to serve as Practicum Director and lead Faculty at AlcheMe Yoga Therapy\, BTC Yoga in Irvine\, California. She has her master’s degree in Marriage\, Family\, and Child Studies and over 1\,308 hours of formal yoga and meditation training. Megan teaches yoga and sees private clients online or in their houses. She leads an annual weekend Redwood Yoga Retreat every Fall. During her earlier career\, she had a “Megassage” business for 12 years\, co-founded Santa Monica Yoga\, created iVillage Print-and-Go-Yoga\, and co-led two yoga retreats in Southern India. DESCRIPTION:Workshop Overview\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				In this 2 hour workshop you will gain a greater understanding of how bones are built\, how to understand a DEXA scan\, and learn safe range of motion for someone with Osteoporosis. We will also be practicing the 12 yoga poses that Dr. Fishman has been studying to increase bone density.\n \nYoga challenges our balance\, builds strength in the body\, increases proprioception which aids in fall prevention. Yoga helps to reduce stress. All of these things are important when you have bone loss.\n \nCome empower yourself! Teaching allows here to share what she has come to love and has made a part of her life. Trained at the Ananda School for Yoga and Meditation\, she has an alignment base style but also one that encompasses the whole individual meeting him/her where they are in the moment. She is a certified yoga therapist\, C-IAYT. Her meditation techniques are from the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. \n					\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Susan has participated in an international yoga study that is indicating that yoga can improve bone strength for someone who has osteoporosis or osteopenia. This is an area of interest for her and she has lead workshops and classes on bone health and yoga in southern California.
