She is honored to serve as Practicum Director and lead Faculty at AlcheMe Yoga Therapy\, BTC Yoga in Irvine\, California. She has her master’s degree in Marriage\, Family\, and Child Studies and over 1\,308 hours of formal yoga and meditation training. Megan teaches yoga and sees private clients online or in their houses. She leads an annual weekend Redwood Yoga Retreat every Fall. During her earlier career\, she had a “Megassage” business for 12 years\, co-founded Santa Monica Yoga\, created iVillage Print-and-Go-Yoga\, and co-led two yoga retreats in Southern India. DESCRIPTION:Course Overview\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				For Yoga Teachers\, learn how to safely adapt the five categories of asana therapeutically.\nThis 11.75 hour weekend is led by Yoga Therapist Cheri Dostal Ryba. This intensive serves as a bridge for yoga teachers who have trained in different lineages and aims to provide a common language and understanding of the body. This is a foundational intensive for our 300-hour training program\, creating a lens that will be carried through all of the other courses. \nThese 11.75 hours will cover the five categories of asana (standing poses\, forward bends\, backbends\, twists and inversions) while focusing on modifications for specific health conditions. In 1997\, he was certified by Gary Kraftsow of the American Viniyoga Institute to teach asana\, pranayama\, and chanting in the same yoga tradition of his own teacher\, TKV Desikachar. Juris has also completed AVI’s three year training course in the application of yoga as a process for managing acute and chronic conditions. As a faculty assistant for AVI\, he helps with training and developing teachers in this authentic Viniyoga tradition. He shares these living teachings of T Krishnamacharya\, emphasizing appropriately placed\, accurate\, and pragmatically integrated yoga techniques to help one achieve their fullest potential. \nJuris Zinbergs is recognized by the International Association of Yoga Therapists\, as a (C-IAYT) Yoga Therapist. He is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500) with Yoga Alliance. He has served as Faculty for the Viniyoga Therapist Training\, (2010-2012)\, Faculty for Viniyoga Foundations Program\, (2011-2015)\, Faculty for Foundations for Yoga Therapy Training\, (2011-2012)\, and Faculty Assistant for AVI Teacher Training and Yoga Therapy Training (2008-2015). \n					\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					\n					\n						 Surendra Mehta MBA\, C-IAYT\, RYT-200\n						Surendra Mehta\, is a certified yoga therapist\, and graduate of the Loyola Marymount University (LMU)\, Los Angeles\, Yoga Therapy and Teachers Training programs. In addition he studied at the Indian Yoga Institute in India\, and with teachers including Dr. Nagendra. Surendra studied Yoga Nidra at Bihar School of Yoga\, and is a direct disciple of Yog Swami Ram Dev\, known for his Pranayama teachings. Currently he is studying Prime of Life Yoga® with internationally known yoga teacher Dr. Larry Payne PhD. \n\nSurendra has been practicing Yoga since 1994 and teaching since 2001. He conducts Pranayama and Yoga Nidra workshops for individuals\, small groups and corporations. He teaches at Yoga Therapy and Teacher Training programs at LMU and other schools.
