Irvine CA 92612 \nKirtan is a live music experience of call and response chanting. It’s a bhakti yoga practice designed to focus the mind\, open the heart\, and elevate your spirits. It is a joyful practice open to students of all backgrounds and religions. The sounds / mantras are often in the language of Sanskrit; which is a vibrational language. \nIf you have not yet experienced the practice of kirtan\, we can’t recommend it more highly. It invites us to transcend our egos\, to become playful\, join our voices and sing from the heart tapping into the mystical power of mantras that have been recited for thousands of years. \nThe Shakti Bhakti Troupe has been providing kirtans to the Orange County community at Yoga Shakti Studio for over 20 years. The kirtans are secular\, universally appealing\, uplifting and uniting. The troupe draws inspiration from its rich and unbroken lineage of Shakti worship via the Sri Vidya tradition. Whether a melodious tune\, a heart-wrenching divine call\, or a thunderous\, roaring\, ferocious dance—the expressions of devotion\, love\, gratitude\, homage\, surrender\, faith and oneness of all beings is ever- present as we spin alongside the unknown on this blue marble. \nAs a collective\, this troupe of experienced musicians\, led by Mariza\, creates a space that allows for a soulful experience beyond kirtan. Each Shakti Bhakti event leads one through a celebratory and powerful call-and-response practice of mantra accompanied by music.
