Yoga Therapy for Mental Health Course

We are so excited to welcome Amy Wheeler Ph.D, President of the International Association of Yoga Therapists to Be The Change. This 45-hour course is open to yoga teachers looking to add a therapeutic lens to their offerings or serves as continuing education for yoga therapists. This course is part of our 850-hour Yoga Therapist Training; which we are opening up to the larger yoga community.

45-Hour Course Begins May 3rd, 2019!

Amy Wheeler is President of the Board of Directors to the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). Prior to this, Amy had served on the Board of Directors as Secretary for IAYT for 3 years.  Additionally, she helped to develop and define standards for Ayurvedic Yoga Therapists in the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA). my earned a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and her B.A.and M.A. in Health Promotion.  She began her body-mind teaching career as a Sport Psychology Consultant and Yoga Teacher to many elite-level athletes, including the Los Angeles Lakers, various Professional Athletic Teams and five U.S. Olympic/National Teams.

Yoga Therapy

A practice from Japan to balance the energetic body. This healing modality involves hands on touch to balance Ki or life force energy, to strengthen the body’s ability to heal on all levels.


Acupuncture is a gentle and natural approach to health, and it is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and balance using fine needles to prevent and treat disease.


We believe Yoga is so much more than a physical practice, it is the art and science of self-reflection and self-refinement. At Be The Change, we provide group classes for students of all levels, backgrounds and health conditions in non-heated studios, while integrating tools for self-care and personal development into every class. We pride ourselves on offering modifications for every pose, so students can practice safely in a group class setting and customize their practice. We also offer a wide array of integrative wellness services, so students can integrate additional healing modalities into their lives.

200hr Yoga Training

This 16 week program is for curious and committed yoga students who seek to deepen their practice or share their love of yoga with others. Next course starts August 3rd, 2019.

300hr Advanced Training

This 12-month program builds upon the 200hr foundation and focuses on how to correctly customize yogic practices for group and private settings. Next course begins February 21st, 2020.

850hr Therapist Training

This 3 year program trains yoga teachers to work with clients with specific health conditions and develop careers as Yoga Therapists. Level 1 of this training begins February 2020 and Level 2 begins March 2020.
