Reiki: a practice from Japan that works on the energetic body
It involves hands on touch to balance Ki or life force energy, to strengthen the body’s ability to heal on all levels.
Balancing The Energetic Body
Did you know that Reiki is recognized as a complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), by the National Institute of Health (NIH) under the National Cancer Institute (NCI)? A CAM therapy by definition is used alongside of conventional medicine and not in place of it, thereby enhancing and supporting medical treatments.
Japanese healing practice developed by Dr. Mikao Usui (1865-1926). Reiki’s roots trace back 2500 years. Reiki is not a religion, but does have a spiritual foundation in supporting one to achieve harmony and balance for their highest good.
Reiki is all loving, all knowing, and does no harm. Involves hands on touch, Ki or life force energy, to strengthen the body’s ability to heal on all levels physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Reiki elicits the relaxation response of the body, creating a cascade of peacefulness and calmness.
Reiki recipients often experience feelings of peace, calm and happiness after treatment, and sometimes have more energy than before. It’s a beautiful way for you to connect with all the friends and family across the world, who can’t physically be with you. And it allows those friends and family members to also feel the connection, creating healing for everyone. Reiki Circles can allow us to join our energies with people across the country and even the world. Collective consciousness is powerful, and when multiple people direct their energies toward one focus or goal, the results can be astounding.
