Allison Prince, C-IAYT, ERYT-500, LMT
Allison Prince began practicing yoga in the early 2000s while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. She took her first yoga training not to become a yoga teacher but to better understand the practice. However, within the first few weeks of the training, she realized she had found her path and purpose. Over the past twenty years, Allison has taught more than 15,000 hours of yoga in group classes, workshops, private sessions, and yoga teacher training.
Allison did a 200-hour and 300-hour yoga teacher program through Cloud Nine Yoga. She also completed over 1,000 hours of massage training at IPSB and Mesa Academy to become a certified massage therapist. She taught at many studios in Orange County at the beginning of her career until she found her first yoga home at Soul at Home in Tustin. While at this studio, she helped co-create 500 hours of yoga teacher training programs with her business partner. Also, during this time, she completed another 200-hour course, this time in Kundalini Yoga, because she has a passion for the more subtle tools that yoga offers.
In 2013, Allison left the comfort of the studio she loved to follow her dreams and open a yoga studio. She is the co-owner of Be the Change Yoga in Irvine, CA. Owning a yoga studio has been both a challenging and exciting experience and has helped her grow in so many ways over this past decade. Be the Change Yoga is the only yoga studio in Orange County offering yoga therapy training. Allison signed up to be part of the inaugural group of the AlcheMe yoga therapy program and became a yoga therapist in 2019.
Allison is passionate about learning more about women’s health, and how best to support them during different stages of life. She has done additional training in yoga for fertility, and yoga therapy for the endocrine system. She is forever a student and is currently receiving her Master’s degree in Functional Medicine and Nutrition. Once she has completed her Master’s degree, she hopes to develop different yoga therapy programs for balancing hormones, calming the nervous system, and mindful eating.
Her company Be The Change Yoga celebrated 10 years in their Orchard Hills Village location in December 2023 and moved to a larger space in Old Town Irvine to expand their community-based programming. A key feature of the new space is the donation-based AlcheMē Tea House where people can build relationships, decrease loneliness, and increase access to health education resources.
The AlcheMē Tea House is run through our non-profit, the AlcheMē Natural Health Institute; which Allison co-founded in 2022. Its vision is to“provide a new model for community care that cultivates social support, utilizes the best evidence-based practices of natural health, and empowers the individual and collective to live well.”
Be The Change Yoga employs a staff of over 25 and is proud to be the center for Yoga Therapy and higher education in Orange County, CA.
