Yoga Etiquette

Cultivating Respect & Presence

To maintain a peaceful and respectful environment for all, we kindly ask that you follow these guidelines:

  1. Arrive Early: Please arrive 5–10 minutes before class begins. Late arrivals will only be admitted if you call ahead. This is for your safety and out of respect for the group’s shared experience. (There will be a 5-minute grace period)
  2. Silence Your Phone: Phones must be on airplane mode or left outside the studio. Vibrations and notifications disrupt the calm of our practice space.
  3. Shoes Off: Please remove shoes and leave them in the hallway cubbies before entering the studio.
  4. Go Scent-Free: Kindly avoid heavy perfumes or scented lotions. Some students are sensitive or allergic.
  5. Clean Borrowed Mats: If you use a studio mat, please clean it thoroughly after class.
  6. Practice Quietude: We love community, and we also value quiet. Please keep voices low in the yoga rooms and hallway before and after class so others can enjoy a moment of stillness. We encourage you to connect with others in the Tea Room before or after class.
  7. Honor the Space: Please stay for the full duration of class, including savasana. If you need to leave early, let the instructor know in advance and exit quietly.

Thanks for helping keep this space sacred, safe, & welcoming for all.

How do I sign up for classes?

You can register for any of our classes in-advance through Momence. Click Here To Register. Our classes do not require pre-registration but we do have some classes that do fill up and pre-registration is recommended to ensure a spot in the class. Allison, Amy, and Katie’s classes tend to fill up.

What do I need to bring?

If you have your own yoga mat, we encourage you to bring it. We also provide complimentary mats for our clients, which are thoroughly cleaned after each use.

Please bring a water bottle. A towel is not necessary.

We supply all additional props you may need, including blankets, blocks, and yoga straps.

What style of Yoga do we teach?

SAFE. CREATIVE. LIFE ENHANCING YOGA.

We teach a mindful breath-centered flow practice that blends Vinyasa flow and therapeutic Viniyoga (moving in and out of postures before holding).

We believe a Yoga practice should always be adapted to suit the needs of the student (s) and modifications should always be offered in a group class. We place a strong emphasis on safe and creative sequencing and taking time to prepare the body for deeper / advanced postures.

We highly value the spiritual and philosophical aspects of Yoga and incorporate deeper meaning and intention into every practice. Students will gain experience in all levels of yoga from Restorative and Beginners to Power and advanced postures.

How do I schedule a Private Session?

To schedule a private session, we recommend starting by choosing either the modality or the instructor you’re most interested in. You can explore all of our wellness services under the Wellness tab in the main menu. From there, select the specific modality page and book your session directly.

Touch and Consent

We honor the ethics and boundaries around touch. Our highly trained instructors and yoga therapists will always ask for permission before offering hands-on adjustments. We practice a trauma-informed approach to ensure that every student feels comfortable, safe, and empowered in their practice.

What if I have an injury?

If you have an injury or specific health concern, please arrive 10–15 minutes early and let our front desk staff know. If you experience challenges with balance or dizziness, we recommend setting up your mat near a wall or one of the studio beams for added support. Yoga chairs are also available and welcome to use.

When the instructor arrives, please introduce yourself and share any injuries, conditions, or special needs. Our instructors are trained to offer thoughtful modifications and can adapt postures to support your safety and comfort.

In some cases, the instructor or front desk team may suggest an alternative class that is better suited to your current needs and abilities.

At Be The Change Yoga, our goal is to keep you safe while supporting you in developing a practice that feels sustainable, empowering, and aligned with your body.
