Allison Martin Prince.
MS, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500, CMT · Co-Founder, Be The Change Yoga
Allison co-founded Be The Change Yoga in 2013 and serves as School Director of our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program. She has been teaching yoga for more than twenty years and has led over 14,000 hours of group yoga therapy instruction and more than 6,000 hours of teacher training and yoga therapist training.
Her path into this work began with the body. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Cal State Fullerton and trained as a massage therapist, completing 500-hour certifications at both IPBS and Mesa Academy. That early foundation in anatomy and hands-on therapeutic care still shapes how she teaches today: with precision, with reverence for the person in front of her, and with a deep understanding of how the physical body carries everything else.
She completed her 200-hour training in 2003 and her 500-hour training with Cloud Nine Yoga, then went on to study Kundalini Yoga, drawn to the subtle body practices that would become a signature of her teaching. Mantra, mudra, and meditation kriya are woven through her classes not as decoration but as genuine tools for shifting energy, steadying the mind, and reaching what asana alone cannot.
Allison received her yoga therapist training through AlcheMē Yoga Therapy and holds specialized certifications in Fertility Yoga Therapy, Endocrine System Yoga Therapy, and Digestive System Yoga Therapy. In her one-on-one practice she works extensively with women navigating fertility, perimenopause, menopause, burnout, fatigue, and sleep disturbance, as well as with older adults facing functional decline, mobility limitations, balance concerns, and chronic pain. Her approach is individualized and unhurried. She begins with a thorough intake, listens closely, and builds a practice that meets the person where they actually are.
Her graduate work extended that lens further. She holds a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States, where her thesis examined mindful eating interventions and their relationship to stress physiology, anxiety, and emotional eating. That training allows her to bridge traditional yogic practice with evidence-based strategies around behavior change, chronic disease prevention, and whole-person care, and it informs everything she brings to the training room.
Since 2016 she has served as a Yoga Therapist and Community Health Educator with Hoag Hospital’s Center for Healthy Living, designing and facilitating community-based yoga therapy programming for underserved and at-risk populations across Orange County. In 2022 she co-founded the AlcheMē Natural Health Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit advancing community-based lifestyle medicine, yoga therapy research, and professional workforce development. She currently serves as Sub-Investigator and Research Operations Lead on MAHA Elevate, a whole-person yoga therapy intervention study for Medicare beneficiaries experiencing or at risk of functional decline.
What students consistently say about studying with Allison is that she sees them. She has a rare capacity to hold both the clinical and the sacred at once, and to make all of it feel not academic but immediately, personally useful.
