9/22 Self-Care September: Yoga and Meditation Tools for Mental Wellness

September 22, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$55

Workshop Overview

Led by experienced yoga teachers Ashley Zarnegar and Jonah Montes, this 2-hour workshop offers a holistic approach to reducing stress and anxiety. Ashley will also draw from her education and experience in psychology to provide tools for cultivating mental wellness.

This workshop will begin with Ashley guiding you through a grounding meditation accompanied by journaling, group discussion, and intention setting. Following this introspective start, Ashley will guide a mindful movement practice, incorporating soothing movements and a focus on breath to release tension and promote relaxation.

Following this, Jonah will guide you through a restorative/yin yoga sequence. This practice will allow you to surrender deeply into supported postures that encourage profound release and restoration. As you unwind, Jonah will create a blissful atmosphere with a mesmerizing quartz crystal singing bowl sound bath, harmonizing your mind, body, and spirit.

To conclude this nourishing experience, the workshop will end with an uplifting OM circle, cultivating unity and a sense of connection among our community. Join us for this empowering workshop, and equip yourself with valuable yoga and mental health tools to embrace a path of self-care.

Along with wearing comfortable clothes, please plan to bring a yoga mat, journal and pen, water, and any other supports you might want. Examples – a pillow or bolster, essential oils, an eye mask, etc.

Ashley Zarnegar, MA, RYT500

I have been facilitating private and group yoga since 2015, and have completed many different training programs. I believe in constant growth and learning and love being in the seat of a student. My students have described my classes as supportive and empowering. I believe that yoga should be for everyone, and love empowering you to do what is best for your body and mind. My background is in marriage and family therapy, and I love to infuse my education in mental health into my classes. I enjoy working with teens and adults of all ages, and look forward to connecting with you further! – Ashley Zarnegar, E-RYT 200, M.A.

Jonah Montes, Yoga Teacher

I started teaching Yoga in 2015 because I realized there is so much more to the practice than just the physical benefits: there is healing and growth. As a teacher, I hope to share the healing aspect of yoga to anyone who is in need of it. I love teaching Yoga because I not only get to contribute to a student’s yoga journey as a guide but also as a witness to the growth and progression they experience through their practice.

My teaching style is gentle Yin-inspired Restorative Yoga with elements of Viniyoga.
