Join Susan Kjesbo for a very special Yoga for Bone Strength 4-week series!
 
In this 4-week series, you will gain a greater understanding of your bones and the pillars to bone health.  Each week, we will also be practicing the yoga poses that Dr. Fishman has been studying to increase bone density.
 
 
This offering is perfect if you’re living with osteoporosis, osteopenia, or want to support healthy aging. Caring for your bones is about more than just strength—it’s about feeling safe, confident, and knowledgeable.
 
This workshop is designed to give you practical tools, gentle guidance, and a deeper understanding of how yoga therapy can help you move with ease and protect and strengthen your bones for years to come. Each week, we’ll explore simple, evidence-based practices and information you can immediately bring into your daily life. Whether you’ve been diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia, or you simply want to support healthy aging, you’ll find this series encouraging, empowering, and accessible.

By the end of our 4 weeks together, you’ll leave with more confidence in how you move, clarity about your bone health, and a personalized toolkit of practices you can continue at home.

Each Week, We’ll Focus On:

Week One:

  • Moving within a safe range of motion
  • Understanding your DEXA scan score
  • Pillars to an effective yoga practice
 

Week Two:

  • Yoga therapy tools to support bone health
 

Week Three:

  • Practical strategies to prevent falls and fractures
  • Strengthening stability and balance
 

Week Four:

  • How hormones influence bone health throughout life
 

Susan Kjesbo, C-IAYT

Susan’s teaching is centered around therapeutics, restorative, yoga for seniors, meditation and hatha yoga. Teaching allows here to share what she has come to love and has made a part of her life. Trained at the Ananda School for Yoga and Meditation, she has an alignment base style but also one that encompasses the whole individual meeting him/her where they are in the moment. She is a certified yoga therapist, C-IAYT. Her meditation techniques are from the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda.

Susan has participated in an international yoga study that is indicating that yoga can improve bone strength for someone who has osteoporosis or osteopenia. This is an area of interest for her and she has lead workshops and classes on bone health and yoga in southern California. Susan is a member of Yoga Alliance and the International Association of Yoga Therapy. She has been trained in hatha, meditation, restoratives, yoga for seniors, in the Fishman method yoga for osteoporosis, chair yoga, and yoga tune-up ball.
