Workshop Overview

In this 2 hour workshop we will be focusing on strength, flexibility, and agility. Yoga is beneficial in all three areas. Our balancing skills tend to decline as we age but you can make a difference in your balance. In this workshop we will: Focus on the feet, knees and hips for strength and flexibility Practice balance poses and movement with distraction. Practicing balance in a variety of ways is one of the sure ways to improve your balance. We live in a distracted world which can make balance more challenging. Come tune up your balance and take away some ideas and tools to keep practicing. This is an all levels class.

Susan Kjesbo, C-IAYT

Susan’s teaching is centered around therapeutics, restorative, yoga for seniors, meditation and hatha yoga. Teaching allows here to share what she has come to love and has made a part of her life. Trained at the Ananda School for Yoga and Meditation, she has an alignment base style but also one that encompasses the whole individual meeting him/her where they are in the moment. She is a certified yoga therapist, C-IAYT. Her meditation techniques are from the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda.

Susan has participated in an international yoga study that is indicating that yoga can improve bone strength for someone who has osteoporosis or osteopenia. This is an area of interest for her and she has lead workshops and classes on bone health and yoga in southern California. Susan is a member of Yoga Alliance and the International Association of Yoga Therapy. She has been trained in hatha, meditation, restoratives, yoga for seniors, in the Fishman method yoga for osteoporosis, chair yoga, and yoga tune-up ball.
