3/27 Yoga for Healthy Hands and Wrists

How many of us sit at a desk, in front of a computer, or ride in a car for more than a few hours per day?  Repetitive hand and wrist issues, as well as shoulder and neck tension, can become areas of major strain and sources of symptoms for many of us in our modern and often sedentary lifestyles.  Learn yoga postures which alleviate the tension in hands, wrists, neck, and shoulders as well as lifestyle changes which can decrease inflammation and discomfort.  Discover what yoga postures and simple meditation techniques you can use throughout your day (even at your desk!) that can alleviate stress and help you feel more alive!

Dr. Allison MacLennan is a board certified orthopaedic hand surgeon and Certified Purna Yoga teacher at the 500 hour level. She is currently enrolled in the College of Purna Yoga’s 2,000 hour teacher training program in Bellevue, Washington and has studied extensively with Aadil Palkhivala, the “teacher of teachers,” and meditation master, Savitri.  Dr. MacLennan has taught yoga and meditation throughout Orange County and Southern California; the greater Seattle area in Washington; in Olso, Norway; and in the beautiful alps of Tyrol, Austria.  She has lectured and led workshops on yoga, health, wellness, and orthopaedic surgery since 2002.
