A 9-Hour Weekend Intensive for Yoga Teachers + Therapists
Gain the tools, knowledge, and confidence to support students with injuries — safely, skillfully, and therapeutically. This weekend training is ideal for yoga teachers and yoga therapists looking to expand their ability to meet students where they are, especially those navigating pain, injury, or physical limitations.
You’ll learn how to assess, modify, and adapt practices to support healing while honoring each student’s unique needs, using a combination of yoga therapy, pranayama, and functional movement principles.
In this workshop, you’ll explore:
- Yoga therapy + pranayama practices for injury recovery
- Common injuries seen in yoga classes — and how to respond
- Pain, stress + the autonomic nervous system
- Assessment tools: Pancha Maya Kosha model, the Gunas + active listening
- Modifications for lower body injuries: feet, ankles, knees, hips
- Modifications for upper body injuries: shoulders, neck, elbows, wrists
- Approaches for spinal injuries: contraindications + alternatives
- Techniques to balance stabilization, strength + safety
This intensive bridges yoga and rehabilitation, offering evidence-informed practices to integrate into both group and private settings. You’ll walk away empowered to work with injury-prone students with compassion, clarity, and skill.

Megan McCarver’s advance trainings are comprised of a Master’s Degree in Marriage Family Counseling, Completion of Yoga Therapy Rx, a Certification from YogaWorks, E-RYT-500 Yoga Alliance, and over 1008 hours of Formal Yoga Teacher Trainings and Self Care.
Her advanced yoga education and experience in teaching Wellness and Yoga for Pain Management offers her talents to customize a program for the patients individualized goals. Megan co-founded Santa Monica Yoga in California in 1993 and is currently teaching here at Be the Change and at YogaWorks in Mission Viejo, CA. In addition, she is the Wellness Consultant at Orange County Pain and Wellness as well as seeing patients privately at the Ayurvedic Garage in San Juan Capistrano.
